Looking for a simple, easy spring wreath for your front door? Well look no further!
We have a very easy to make Deco mesh carrot wreath tutorial that anyone can can do.
Check out the video below.
10" Deco Mesh - 2 rolls (we used RE136620 wide foil orange but you can use other styles
20" Plastic Tree Shaped Form (if showing out of stock, more will be arriving soon)
13470GN Dusty Miller Bundle (3)
I used some left over pieces of grasses from previous projects. The exact grass that I used is no longer available but here's a link to some similar ones.
Scissors
Cut both rolls of mesh into 10" wide pieces.
Insert zip ties into the board, but don't fasten or start to fasten them. They need to be small enough to insert through the holes. Use a pair of needle-nose pliers to make it easier on your fingers!
Roll under edges of mesh about an inch or so, then gather thru the middle and make a ruffle.
Secure the ruffle on to the board with the zip tie. Snip off the end of the zip tie.
Continue to place a ruffle in each space on the board.
When you complete the first layer, you may wonder if the board is going to show through the mesh. But after you get the rows completed, it fully covers the board.
In fact, you could experiment with leaving a ruffle out here and there, but we had two rolls of mesh cut, so we used it all except for just a few pieces.
Cut the stems shorter on one of the Dusty Miller Bundles. Stagger the layers of grass and just fill in with as much as you want. Use hot glue to secure the grass pieces.
Be sure to tuck the grass pieces into the front of the board down into the spaces between the mesh. You don't want the grass stems showing on the back side.
Clip (not pull) any loose strings.
Make a hanger for the wreath with zip ties, chenille stems or floral wire.
Add a bow if you like!
If you use a style of mesh other than plain or metallic Deco poly mesh, you could probably omit some of the ruffles since fabric mesh or poly burlap is thicker.
Happy Easter!
