Today we're going to fix a warped grapevine wreath. Ever happen to you? If you're a wreath maker, it has! It happens to all of us.
You have a stack of grapevine wreaths and there is always that one or two that you keep skipping over. You pick out a better one but eventually, you get to the bottom of the stack. And there it is. So warped or crooked that it would never lay flat on your door.
Well, today, we're going to fix that!
Step 1
Wet the warped grapevine wreath down with water. Really soak it good. I wet these down with a water hose, but if you had a large enough container to soak it overnight, that would be even better.
Maybe I should say, try to wet the grapevine wreath. Browser thought this project was his own. Goodness, you would think that dog hadn't had a drink of water all day! He is well fed and watered folks, don't send me hate mail saying give that poor dog a drink)))). He loves to play in the water and drink out of the hose.
Step 2
After the warped grapevine wreaths are really soaked, lay them on a flat surface. Find something really heavy and lay on top of the wreath. It needs to cover the wreath all over. I used some left over concrete stones. But you could use anything that is flat and heavy.
Now that I look at this pic, we need to clean our driveway!
Final Step
Leave the covered wreath overnight. If it's not flat enough by the next day, wet and repeat. One of my wreaths was just fine, but the other one had to have a repeat.

Other Options
If all else fails and you just can't get the warped wreath flat enough, don't despair1 Just take it apart and use the twigs for other products. They make a great base for a lantern topper. They add a rustic dimension to florals. Grapevine makes an excellent garland base for outdoor mantels or decorations.
